Another dominant performance by Ante Zizic in ABA

Ante Zizic presented yet another display of the talent that attracted the Boston Celtics and forced them to pick him in the 2016 Draft.

With 28 points (on 9/13 two-point shots, 10/11 from the free throw line), 7 rebounds and 2 steals he spearheaded the efforts of Cibona Zagreb in a 75 – 95 road loss by Buducnost for the ABA League.

His production could have been even greater if he hadn’t been fouled out almost 4 minutes into the final period, something that more or less doomed Cibona. It was his raging action inside the paint that kept the head of his team above the water throughout the whole game.

From the moment the Croatian center went to the bench, being forced to watch the remainder of the match from the sidelines, his squad managed to produce only 2 points in 6 minutes, while conceding 18. Such was Zizic’s beneficial impact on the floor.

Still, when all was said and done, he registered another dominant performance, his second best of the season so far after his memorably epic match vs MZT Skopje.

With this victory, Buducnost remains one of the two undefeated teams in ABA (together with Crvena Zvezda) while Cibona’s record is now 6-2. Zizic averages 28 points (71% from the field), 9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, spending 31 minutes on court per game.
