Okaro White says “no” to power forward searching Panathinaikos

By George Orfanakis/ info@eurohoops.net

Since James Gist’s serious injury will keep him out of action for months, Panathinaikos has entered the search for a power forward with the name of Okaro White being high in the Greens’ list.

So far Panathinaikos has knocked twice on the American power forward’s door, only to receive an equal number of negative answers. The reason is simple and has to do with White’s ambition to gain entrance to the NBA. The 24-year-old player is currently in the NBA D-League as a member of the Sioux Falls Skyforce (the Miami Heat’s affiliate team) averaging 18.7 points, 11 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He wants to remain there, hoping that his performances will give him the chance to be… promoted in the top league of the planet.

Of course, Panathinaikos’ need for a player with White’s characteristics is great, therefore the Greek club will insist in order to attract him and bring him back to Europe. In any case, the six-time European champs are keeping their radars open for the best possible option of a quality power forward, able to adapt quickly in their demands.
