Career high for Voronov as Unics takes down Galatasaray in Kazan

Unics easily prevailed over Galatasaray 73-60 at home, bettering its record to 4-9, while the Turkish team fell to the same one.

For the winners, Evgeny Voronov achieved a new personal record, scoring 22 points, Quino Colom scored 17 points and handed out 7 assists, while Artsiom Parakhouski finished the game with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks.

For Galatasaray, Sinan Guler scored 17 points in his team’s loss, while he had 6 assists. Following, Emir Preldzic was the only other one who scored in double digits for the team and had 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

The hosts took the lead early in the game and kept it until the end, even though Galatasaray kept them rather low at scoring in the first period, which ended 15-11. The Turkish team didn’t let the hosts get away with bigger differences, still Parakhouski was really effective for his team, leading it to the lockers with a 6-point lead, 37-31.

After the break, Unics accelerated, while the Belorussian center blocked one shot after another, leaving Ergin Ataman’s team stunned. Through solid defense, the Russian team grabbed a double digit lead after 30 minutes, 55-43. In the final period, Galatasaray reduced to 10 points, though it wasn’t possible to make a comeback in the game. At 29′, the deficit even rose to 17 points.
