Nikos Zisis is on the verge of returning to AEK, the team in which he was established as a player, before leaving Greece and spending 15 years outside its borders.

According to Eurohoops sources, AEK is offering to Zisis a contract until the summer of 2021, and Joventut Badalona is willing to grant the wish of the Greek guard to close his career in the Athenian club.

The deal is almost finalized, and official announcements are expected in the next few hours.

The 36 years old Zisis left AEK in the summer of 2005, and since then, he has played for Benetton Treviso, CSKA Moscow, Siena, Bilbao, Unics Kazan, Fenerbahce, Brose Bamberg, and Joventut.

After this turn of events, Semaj Christon, who was the other leading candidate for AEK’s roster, remains a member of Limoges.

As a member of AEK, Nikos Zisis has won the Greek League championship title (2002) and the Greek Cup (2001).
