Lietkabelis grabs a narrow road win against Torun

In a very balanced game, Lietkabelis managed to prevail in the final minutes for an 85-81 road win over Polski Cukier Torun.

Lietkabelis improved to 5-7 and stayed alive in the playoff race while Torun, which was already out of playoff contention, stayed at the bottom of Group A with a 2-10 record.

Paulius Valinskas scored 19 points for the victors followed by Vytenis Lipkevicius with 17 (5-6 threes) while Zeljko Sakic logged 11 points, ten assists, six boards, and two steals.

For Torun, Chris Wright notched a double-double with 21 points and 12 assists in addition to Alade Aminu’s 23 and Damian Kulig’s 12 points.

Torun was ahead 20-17 after the first quarter and 40-37 at halftime. The close game continued after the break as well with Lietkabelis having the minimal 60-59 lead at the end of the third period. The guests improved the gap to seven points quickly (70-63) and managed to hold on until the very end, although Torun made it a one-possession game a few times.
