Langford: Losing a chunk of the season was very impactful and very difficult for me

Keith Langford is entering his 16th season at the age of 37 and he has been putting on strong performances consistently despite that.

In fact, he was named the BCL MVP of the Season with 19.4 points on average. In his talk with the Swish Cultures, Langford noted that the reason for that is ‘just’ keeping up the same work as always and never to stop chasing improvement.

“Transitioning into this last part of my career… It’s important to put the finishing touches on the consistency that I’ve had throughout my career. I just keep getting better and even at this point, in year 16, I keep adding different things to my game. Just being that blueprint to show the guys the kind of work you should to put in and that you can extend your career past what guys typically do,” he said.

With longevity in mind, Langford also doesn’t want to miss any chances to play – which is why the hiatus due to the coronavirus was quite impactful for him.

“I think the biggest thing with basketball being taken away… For me, it was impactful because as an older player I know that I don’t have much time left, so, to lose a chunk of the season – it’s very impactful and very difficult for me because I want to maximize as many opportunities as I have towards the end of my career. Definitely, the most impactful thing was just having basketball taken away not knowing how much time you have left,” he said.
