AEK Athens is finalizing a deal with guard Nikos Pappas who should be the first domestic addition for the Greek Basketball Champions League power ahead of the 2021-22 season.

Pappas last played Polish side Zielona Gora before rupturing his Achilles’ tendon in March. He previously was a member of Panathinaikos from 2013 to 2020.

AEK is also negotiating with veteran EuroLeague and EuroCup playmaker Quino Colom who spent the previous season with Crvena Zvezda and Baskonia. The Spanish guard previously played under AEK coach Stefanos Dedas on Turkish team Bahcesehir in 2018-2019.

Center Giorgos Bogris and guard Antonis Koniaris are two other free agents that are in talks with AEK.

So far in the 2021 offseason, AEK has agreed with forward Eric Griffin, guard Braian Angola, forward Stevan Jelovac and forward Juan Pablo Vaulet.
