Ludwigsburg tabs James Woodard

MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg has penned James Woodard to a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Woodard, 27, last played for Peristeri. He finished his 2020-21 campaign registering 7.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game in Greece’s Basket League.

His move back to Germany brings him to the Basketball Champions League for the first time. His new team is part of Group A of the Regular Season alongside Lenovo Tenerife, Dinamo Sassari, and one more team coming out of the qualifiers.

The former Tulsa standout holds the experience of 19 matches in Germany’s easyCredit BBL. He logged those appearances as a member of medi Bayreuth in 2019-20. He has also played in Italy, Lithuania, and France, besides the recent stint in Greece.

Quinton Hooker, Scottie James, and Jonathan Baehre have been already added by Ludwigsburg ahead of the 2021-22 season.
