Unicaja interested in Donta Hall, moving on from Dejan Kravic

Unicaja Malaga continues working on the roster for the upcoming season in the Spanish League and the Basketball Champions League, especially so on its frontcourt.

After the effort to bring over the three-time BCL champion Dejan Kravic didn’t end with a signature as the club changed direction despite an agreement in principle with the player, Unicaja is now strongly interested in adding some NBA talent with Donta Hall, according to sources.

The team is looking for a different profile of player compared to Kravic and Hall would deliver a bigger and more athletic presence in the paint, which seems to be Unicaja’s wish going forward.

The 23-year-old, 2.08-tall American player is a free agent after playing for the G League Raptors 905 and the Orlando Magic this season. In the NBA, Hall, who can take up versatile frontcourt roles, averaged 5.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in just under 14 minutes per game.

After playing for three different teams in the NBA – Brooklyn, Detroit, Orlando – everything indicates that the big man will continue his career in Europe. However, Unicaja will find competition in the efforts to sign Hall, as there are more European teams interested in recruiting his talent.
