A convincing all-around display for Unicaja Malaga in the win, 86-70, opposite Lavrio Megabolt on Wednesday.

Former Notre Dame standout Tim Abromaitis enjoyed a season-high 15 points powered by 6/7 field goals on a game-high 22 efficiency rating in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Group C Round 2 contest held at the Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena.

Dario Brizuela logged a season-high and team-high 16 points plus five assists and five rebounds. Axel Bouteille, initially questionable to play due to injury, followed with 13 points. Two-time NBA champion Norris Cole finished with seven points and a game-high seven assists.

Tyson Carter, going through his second season out of Mississippi State at the Greek team under Christos Serelis, kept things interesting thanks to a game-high 21 points. Marcus Lewis recorded 14 points in the losing effort at Malaga, Spain.

After the visitors dug their way out of an early eight-point hole, the Andalusian side jumped right back in the lead and stayed in full control through the second half. The win at home shaped a 2-0 start in the team’s first Champions League campaign.

FC Barcelona is up next for the team coached by Fotis Katsikaris going into Sunday’s fixture packing a 3-3 ACB record. Malaga will also visit MoraBanc Andorra before hosting JDA Dijon in an upcoming BCL Monday “Game of the Week” scheduled for November 1.

Lavrio, down to 1-1 in its own debut Basketball Champions League season, will host Nizhny Novgorod on November 2 after facing Apollon Oscar and Aris at the domestic level hoping to build on the 2-1 start in Greece’s Stoiximan Basket League.
