Quino Colom erupts for 26 points and keeps AEK alive

AEK Athens found itself in a must-win situation in the Basketball Champions League and the Greeks managed to prevail in the tough battle against VEF Riga for an 88-79 victory at home.

Quino Colom was spectacular for the winning side and was the main reason for the outcome with 26 points on 6-9 shooting from deep while also dishing five assists, and grabbing three rebounds.

Ian Hummer followed him with 17 points. For Riga, Kristers Zoriks banked in 22 points (5-10 threes) but AEK managed to slow him down in the late stages of the game. Alexander Madsen had ten points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals.

This was the first win for AEK which has now improved to a 1-3 record in Group D, the same record as Riga as both chase Falco Szombathely (2-1) and Nutribullet Treviso (3-0).
