Hapoel Jerusalem announced that Aleksandar Dzicic is the new head coach of the team. The former ABA League champion with Buducnost signed a two-year contract with the Israeli Basketball Champions League powerhouse.

“I’m happy and excited to join Hapoel Jerusalem,” Dzikic said per the club. “I have great memories of the organization and especially the fans from the last time I came to the arena. I can guarantee that we’ll work hard as a team, with passion, courage and determination on the way to achieving our common goals. We’ll do our best to bring in the players who will share the same approach to basketball.”

Last season Dzikic won the Montenegrin championship title with Buducnost while the team also made the ABA Finals. It was his second stint with the club after he led them to their first-ever ABA title in 2017 and a return to EuroLeague for the first time since 2003.

Dzikic has also coached such teams as Partizan Belgrade, Estudiantes, Rytas Vilnius and Olimpija Ljubljana. From 2005 to 2007 he was also an assistant coach at the Minnesota Timberwolves.
