Bilbao tabs Xavi Rabaseda, Galatasaray adds Angelo Caloiaro

Experienced swingman Xavi Rabaseda penned a two-year contract to join Surne Bilbao, the team announced Sunday.

Rabaseda, 33, playing for Hereda San Pablo Burgos the last couple of seasons became a two-time champion in the Basketball Champions League and also captured the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Back in 2010, he also became EuroLeague champion in a minor role at FC Barcelona. Athletic forward Michale Kyser coming in from Israel champion Hapoel U-NET Holon was an addition announced Thursday.

After wrapping up a four-year stint at Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, Angelo Caloiaro signed a one-year contract with Galatasaray Nef. The 32-year-old forward is back in the Champions League and will also resurface in Turkey in succession to the 2017-18 stint at Banvit. Previous summer reinforcements for the team coached by Andreas Pistiolis include Dylan Ennis and Raymar Morgan.

Preparing for the Qualifiers and the opportunity to compete in the 2022-23 BCL Regular Season, Tofas picked up Khyri Thomas from Maccabi. The former Creighton standout was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 38th pick of the 2018 NBA draft and made his way to 41 NBA games before opting to move his talents to Europe in 2021.

UCAM Murcia completed yet another impressive move securing the services of 27-year-old center Ilimane Diop for the 2022-23 season. He will reunite with Sito Alonso after working under the Spanish tactician at Baskonia during the 2016-17 season.

Back in the Champions League for a fourth campaign, Kendrick Ray is a newcomer confirmed by Igokea m:tel. Western Kentucky product Justin Johnson became the latest addition to MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg.

JDA Dijon doubled up in the last couple of days by landing Markis McDuffie and David Brembly for the next season. Jonathan Rousselle and Gregor Hrovat were the previous arrivals.

In Greece, AEK acquired Nikos Persidis and retained Antonis Koniaris, while PAOK mateco re-signed Nate Renfro for one more season.
