Nihad Djedovic inked a contract extension with Unicaja.

The team based in Malaga announced the deal with the 35-year-old swingman on Thursday.

Per the press release: “Unicaja and Nihad Djedovic have reached an agreement to extend the relationship between both parties. In this way, the Bosnian forward (35 years old, 1.99 meters), a key piece in the locker room, will continue to impart his talent and leadership to the team.”

Since joining Unicaja before the 2022-23 season, Djedovic contributed to winning the Basketball Champions League in 2024, the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in 2024, the Copa del Rey in 2023 and 2025, and the Supercopa Endesa in 2024. In addition to the direct on-court impact, his leadership skills have naturally extended off the court to support his teammates.

So far in his 2024-25 journey, the experienced winger tallied 6.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest over eight games in the Basketball Champions League. At the domestic level, he has averaged 4.8 points per contest over 12 appearances in Spain’s Liga Endesa Regular Season. The team coached by Ibon Navarro currently carries a 2-1 W-L tally in a three-way tie on top of Group J of the BCL Round of 16 and at 16-5 in the ACB ranks second, one game behind leading Real Madrid.

A youth product of FC Barcelona, Djedovic spent the majority of his career with FC Bayern Munich between 2013 and 2022. Other former teams include ALBA Berlin in Germany and Galatasaray in Turkiye.
