Performing a crucial 29-13 run in the second, including a 15-0 scoring stretch entering the quarter, AEK Betsson BC fulfilled their long-awaited task: returning to the Basketball Champions League Final Four.
Following their away defeat on French soil, Dragan Sakota’s team got their revenge over Nanterre 92, celebrating the 104-69 in front of their fans and advancing to the biggest event of the season.
After being one of the most prominent players for the black-and-gold side all throughout the International campaign, Hunter Hale put the icing on the cake with 23 points and 7 assists. In the third quarter, AEK improved to a crazy 34-9 run, with Grant Golden (19 points) contributing.
Moving on to the losing side, Desi Rodriguez had his usual good performance, as demonstrated several times already this season. He had a 15-point losing effort in Game 3.
The full picture of the 2024-25 Basketball Champions League Final Four is perfectly completed, with the event now officially set to be played in Athens’ SUNEL Arena from May 9-11.
AEK will face Unicaja and Galatasaray will go up against Tenerife in the Semi-Finals. The other three participants respectively beat Reggiana, Nymburk, and Derthona in the Quarter-Finals.
