During the Basketball Champions League Final Four press conference, Galatasaray’s captain Göksenin Köksal spoke about Ergin Ataman.

He said that the Panathinaikos head coach might attend their match in Athens and support his former team.

We talked. I wished him all the best for the EuroLeague Final Four. Hopefully, he will come to support us,” Köksal said.

It didn’t take long for the Turkish tactician to confirm his presence.

As the head coach of the national team, of course, if a Turkish team is playing in an important tournament in Athens and it doesn’t coincide with my own game, I’ll be there. Panathinaikos doesn’t have a game this weekend, so it’s true that I’ll be at the arena. Galatasaray also called and personally invited me. So yes, I’ll be there. Hopefully, it ends with a championship,” Ataman told HT Spor.

Ergin Ataman coached Galatasaray from 2012 to 2017 and led the team to EuroCup glory in 2016.
