A list of former NBA players joining Trapani Shark during the offseason, including Ryan Arcidiacono, has been extended to 23-year-old Adama Sanogo. The latest newcomer featured in 13 games with the Chicago Bulls over the last two seasons. More players with NBA experience, Timmy Allen, Jordan Ford, and Matthew Hurt, alongside Italian Alessandro Cappelletti, were already signed, en route to Group D of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season, opposite La Laguna Tenerife, Tofas, and Bnei PenLink Herzliya.
A veteran of 73 BCL appearances, 28-year-old Greek point guard Dimitris Flionis inked a three-year contract extension with AEK Betsson. The Queen captain will add to his total through Group F, with the Greek side taking on VEF Riga, NHSZ-Szolnoki Olajbanyasz, and one more team coming out of the Qualification Rounds.
Getting ready for Group C action, Cholet picked up 25-year-old American winger Chibuzo Agbo for his first professional season. Developing his talents in the NCAA, the native of San Diego suited up for the University of Southern California last season, following previous two-year spells with Boise State and Texas Tech.
Fellow Group C outfit, Joventut Badalona, announced a contract extension until the end of the 2027-28 season with 22-year-old Yannick Kraag. Staying with the ACB club, the Dutch winger will debut in the Champions League, facing Cholet, Hapoel Netanel Holon, and one more team surviving the Qualifiers.
Andrew Funk lands in Belgium
With the experience of five NBA games with the Bulls during the 2023-24 Regular Season, Andrew Funk used overseas options to advance his career and joined Windrose Antwerp Giants. The 25-year-old American guard will start his first European club continental campaign in the BCL Qualification Rounds.
Fellow Qualifiers outfit, Bursaspor Yorsan, signed 25-year-old Estonian forward Artur Konontsuk to a one-year contract.
