Pallacanestro Trieste has completed its roster for the upcoming season by signing Juan Toscano-Anderson, as local newspaper “Il Piccolo” reported first, and the club officially announced two days later.

The 31-year-old Mexican forward, an NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors in 2022, is expected to arrive from Capitanes de Ciudad de México.

A Marquette product in 2015, Toscano-Anderson played over 200 games for the Warriors between 2018 and 2022 before stints with the Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, and Sacramento Kings.

Known for his energy, aggressive defense, and ability to unite a locker room, he became the first Mexican player to win an NBA title.

In European circles, Toscano-Anderson drew attention during the 2024 FIBA Intercontinental Cup, where he represented the G League United team and stated that “the G League is the second-best league in the world.”

He is now set to be coached by Israel González at Italian club Trieste and will compete in the Basketball Champions League.

Moreover, the Italian side also announced the arrival of Mady Sissoko under the basket as the team’s newest center.
