It all came down to the wire in the Round 2 Basketball Champions League Regular Season game between Fitness First Würzburg Baskets and Igokea m:tel.
In the end, it was Marcus Carr who delivered the game-winner with four seconds left on the clock, as the German side edged the visitors, 70–68.
Carr finished the game with 12 points, while Johnathan Stove led the scoring with 13. Eddy Edigin added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Brae Ivey and Davion Mintz contributed 11 points each — with Mintz recording a crucial steal in the dying moments of the game.
On the other side, Nighael Ceaser posted 15 points and six rebounds, Breein Tyree added 12, and Nikola Popović had 11.
Würzburg had a big run in the second quarter and grabbed a 38–30 lead, but Igokea trimmed the deficit to 38–34 before halftime. The visiting team turned the score around at the start of the third period, but the German side responded with another push to regain control. Still, it remained a tight game until the very end.
Nighael Ceaser made a layup with 29 seconds left to tie the score at 68–68, but then Charles Thompson secured an offensive rebound to give Würzburg another chance to go ahead. Marcus Carr drove to the basket and scored with four seconds remaining. Igokea didn’t even get a shot off for a potential overtime or game-winning attempt, as Davion Mintz came up with a steal in the final second to seal the win for Sašo Filipovski’s team.
