AEK Athens eases past Szolnoki with commanding display

AEK BC delivered a defensive masterclass in the opener against VEF Riga, conceding just 53 points, and showcased its offensive prowess in Round 2 against NHSZ-Szolnoki Olajbanyasz.

Dragan Sakota’s team cruised past the Hungarian side, recording a convincing 91–77 victory at SUNEL Arena.

Chris Silva led the way with 19 points and six rebounds, while RaiQuan Gray added 16 points and 10 boards for the Greek team.

Mindaugas Kuzminskas followed with 13 points, Lukas Lekavicius contributed 12, and Frank Bartley scored 10 for the winners.

Le’Tre Darthard stood out for Szolnoki with 23 points, while Brady Skeens recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Ryland Holt also added 11 points.

AEK opened the game strongly, taking the first quarter 22–10 and assuming control of the match early. The Greek side stayed in front throughout, extending the lead to 65–50 in the third period and then to 88–68 in the final quarter, pulling away to an insurmountable margin.

The dominant display was underlined by the fact that Szolnoki didn’t lead for a single second of the game.
