Tenerife secured a convincing victory in the third round of the Basketball Champions League, defeating Tofas away with a score of 81-64.
Eleven players from the visiting team got on the scoresheet, with Marcelinho Huertas and Bruno Fitipaldo leading the way with 15 points each. On the other side, Marek Blazevic scored 12 points, while Alex Perez added ten.
Everyone expected a dramatic clash in one of the group phase derbies, but Tenerife cruised to victory. The visitors held a double-digit lead at halftime; Tofas managed to threaten in the third quarter, but the Spanish team took the final period 25-13 and thus secured two points.
This marks Tenerife’s seventh consecutive win in all competitions, and they now stand at 3-0 in the BCL. Meanwhile, Tofas has two wins and one loss. Interestingly, these same teams will face off again in Spain in two weeks.
