Cholet achieved a win in the fourth round of the Basketball Champions League group stage, defeating Hapoel Holon in a match played in Hungary after overtime, with a score of 94-92.

Jordan McRae played a phenomenal game for the losing team, but it turned out that even that didn’t help. He scored 37 points (12/19 from the field, 10/10 free throws), but real support was lacking as the next on the scorers’ list was Idon Zalmanson with 11.

Gerald Ajayi was the top scorer for the winning team with 19 points, while Digue Diawara and Daylen Kountz added 13 each.

It seemed that Cholet would manage to avenge the Israelis for the defeat two weeks ago without any problems. The guests had a convincing lead, with a 15-point advantage near the end of the third quarter (67-52), but Holon closed the gap, melted the lead, and eventually forced overtime, with free throws by Yair Kravits (84-84).

However, in the end, Holon came up empty-handed, even though they had a shot for victory. Zalmanson missed, leaving Cholet to somehow survive the drama.

After this game, both teams have a 2-2 record. In the next round, Cholet will host Bursaspor, while Hapoel Holon will play their match in Badalona against Joventut.
