DeAndre Gholston joined Cholet in the Basketball Champions League Season X, powered by Ameresco SUNEL.

His addition to the French club was announced on Tuesday, following the separation with Daylen Kountz upon mutual agreement on Monday. The departing guard had 13.4 points per contest in his first five features in FIBA Europe’s top-tier club competition.

The newcomer carries the experience of 12 FIBA Europe Cup appearances with fellow French club ESSM Le Portel into his first BCL assignment. After completing his NCAA career, spread between Missouri, Milwaukee, Tallahassee Community College, and Kent State, he started his professional run in Hungary before taking his talents to France. At the top of his 2025-26 journey, he played for Hapoel Rivulis Galil Elion, averaging 11.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.7 steals per contest over seven games in Israel’s Winner League Regular Season.

Besides replacing 25-year-old Kountz with 25-year-old Gholston, Cholet parted ways with Isaiah Miles on Sunday, at the end of his medical replacement assignment for Keshawn Justice. The 31-year-old forward averaged 6.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game over four Champions League showings, upping his games played total to 39, combined with previous spells at Maccabi Ramat Gan, AEK, and Hapoel Unet-Credit Holon.

At 3-2 in Group C, the team coached by Fabrice Lefrancois is set to complete the Regular Season by welcoming Joventut Badalona in La Meilleraie on December 17. Having clinched a berth in the Play-Ins, Gameday 6 implications still concern a possible homecourt advantage in a best-of-three series for a ticket to the Round of 16.

On Monday, Mersin Spor hired a new general manager in Omer Yalcinkaya, who previously parted ways with fellow Turkish BCL side Galatasaray MCT Technic on Friday.
