Mersin claimed victory in the fifth-round game of Group G in the FIBA Basketball Champions League, defeating AS Karditsa on the road with a 80–72 score.

The top scorer for the winning team was Jack White with 21 points and ten rebounds, while Gabe Olaseni contributed 14 points and 14 rebounds. Kartal Ozmizrak also performed well with 17 points.

On the other side, the only player in double figures was Damien Jefferson with 20 points and seven boards.

Mersin essentially secured the win in Greece in the first quarter, which the visitors won 26–10.

For the rest of the game, they easily maintained the lead, which only once dipped to single digits, and managed to achieve an important victory.

With this triumph, Mersin secured a spot in the play-in round, finishing in second place in Group G. In the final round, the Turkish team will host Oostende in a game without any significance for the standings.

Meanwhile, AS Karditsa also advanced, finishing in third place, and their sixth-round game against Unicaja won’t be particularly important either.
