ALBA stuns Tofas after a comeback

ALBA Berlin secured a victory in the first match of the Round of 16 phase of the Basketball Champions League by defeating Tofas, with a 94-88 score, away from home.

Malte Delow was the top scorer for the visiting team with 18 points, Jack Kayil scored 16, J’Wan Roberts 13, while Martin Hermannsson had 12 points along with eight assists.

On the other side, Alex Perez-Kaufmann was the best with 23 points and eight assists, Jordan Floyd scored two less, Hugo Besson finished with 15 and Marek Blazevic also scored in double digits with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Tofas had a great start to the game, reaching a double-digit lead in the first quarter and were at +13 (40-27) towards the end of the first half.

However, ALBA played a dream second half, coming back into the game by the end of the third quarter and turning things around with a 12-0 run at the start of the fourth quarter (72-68). The Germans continued to play well until the end, closing out the game without drama.

In the next round, ALBA will visit AEK in Athens, while Tofas will also have an away game against AS Karditsa.
