Olek Balcerowski penned a contract extension with Unicaja, the back-to-back Basketball Champions League champions announced on Thursday.

Sticking around, the 25-year-old center committed for two more seasons, with the new deal including an option for a third season.

“I want to keep improving in Malaga,” commented the Polish big, a veteran of 19 Champions League appearances.

Per the press release: “Olek Balcerowski strengthens his commitment to Unicaja. The Club and the center have reached an agreement to extend their relationship for two seasons, with an optional third season. Olek Balcerowski joined Malaga’s team last season, establishing himself as one of the key players in his second year at Unicaja. His numbers speak for themselves: in the 26 games played this season, he is the highest-rated player on the roster with an average of 12.6 points per game. At 25 years of age, the tallest player in the locker room of Unicaja wants to continue growing in Malaga.”

From a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague championship with Panathinaikos in 2024 and a 7DAYS EuroCup championship with Gran Canaria in 2023, Balcerowski added a BCL title with the Malaga outfit last season, besides also lifting the Intercontinental Cup in 2024 and 2025. Navigating the BCL’s Season X, powered by Ameresco SUNEL, his side is up to 1-0 in Group K of the Round of 16, tied with fellow ACB outfit Joventut Badalona in first place, ahead of Fitness First Wurzburg and Elan Chalon.

On Monday, before Gameday 1 of the Round of 16, Badalona extended the contract of Henri Drell. Inking a short-term deal in September, which was later renewed, the 25-year-old combo forward has been confirmed until the end of the 2025-26 season. He is a veteran of ten Champions League games, including seven with his current club in Season X.
