Tofas achieved their first victory in Group J of the BCL Round of 16, defeating AS Karditsa on the road with a score of 93-79.
Hugo Besson was the most efficient player on his team with 22 points, while Marek Blazevic contributed with 19 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Floyd and Isaiah Whaley added 10 points each.
On the other side, Damien Jefferson was the best with 15 points, while Aaron Estrada added two fewer.
The guests secured the win in the second half. AS Karditsa put up good resistance in the first half, leading after the first quarter, but at halftime the Turkish team had a three-point lead (49-46).
The third quarter proved decisive, with Tofas winning it 26-16 to pull ahead by double digits—a lead that at one point in the fourth quarter stretched to +21 (88-67). AS Karditsa managed to reduce the deficit by the end but could not avoid defeat.
This was Tofas’ first win in the second phase of the Basketball Champions League, and in the third round they will host AEK Athens. Meanwhile, AS Karditsa has two losses and will seek their first win in Berlin, away at ALBA.
