Gran Canaria secured a victory in the fourth round of Group L in the Round of 16 of the BCL, defeating Trieste 94-70 on the road.
Pierre Pelos was the standout player for the visitors with 17 points, while Nico Brussino and Eric Vila Martinez each added 15, and Mike Tobey contributed 12. On the other side, Markel Brown and Juan Toscano Anderson each scored 16 for the Italians.
After a balanced start to the game, the visitors managed to take control of the second quarter with a 28-18 advantage, pulling away to a double-digit lead.
They further extended the lead in the third quarter, at times exceeding a 20-point margin, and comfortably maintained the difference until the end, securing two points in Italy.
Gran Canaria and Tenerife now both have a 3-1 record, and a win for these two teams in the next two rounds would theoretically advance them further. Meanwhile, Trieste and Nymburk each have one win and three losses. In the next round, Gran Canaria will visit Tenerife, while Trieste will face a match in the Czech Republic against Nymburk.
