Surne Bilbao is cementing its core ahead of the 2026–27 Basketball Champions League edition. The reigning FIBA Europe Cup champions secured stability by extending the contracts of captain Tryggvi Hlinason, co-captain Harald Frey, and Catalan forward Aleix Font until 2029. The Icelandic center is coming off a stellar continental and domestic season, while 29-year-old Frey and 28-year-old Font bring vital playmaking to the court. These long-term agreements complement existing squad depth alongside Darrun Hilliard, Luke Petrasek, Margiris Normantas, and Martin Krampelj.
Defending BCL champions Rytas confirmed their new head coach. The capital club handed the reins to 31-year-old specialist Nedas Pacevicius, who previously excelled on the coaching staff. To maintain tactical continuity, Finnish assistant Vesa Vertio signed an extension to serve as the lead tactician by his side.
Meanwhile, veteran forward Howard Sant-Roos agreed to a one-year extension with UCAM Murcia, bringing 70 games of Champions League experience and his signature defensive versatility to Sito Alonso’s system. In Lugo, local point guard Erik Quintela will continue his leadership as captain of Río Breogan, marking his seventh consecutive season with the blue team.
In Germany, BMA365 Bamberg Baskets penned German-American forward Brendan Terry to a two-year contract out of Southeast Missouri State, adding him to a roster that includes Demarcus Demonia, Richard Balint, Daniel Keppeler, and Yuval Hochstadter.
Additionally, Ryan Moffatt extended his stay with Czech outfit KVIS Pardubice, Joel Murray renewed with Windrose Giants Antwerp, and Szymon Tomczak joined Legia Warsaw to bolster their potential BCL campaign.
