ALBA Berlin officially secured the services of Joe Wieskamp on Tuesday, signing the American forward to a three-year contract following his standout year in Germany.
“I’m excited to join such an amazing club with a winning culture, and be a part of something special moving forward. There’s a lot of great things in place, and I’m excited to be a part of it,” mentioned 26-year-old Wieskamp, who played in 38 NBA games with the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors before taking his talents to Germany and spending the 2025–26 season with Science City Jena.
Wieskamp’s journey to Berlin is backed by a highly versatile resume. The 1.98-meter guard-forward earned Iowa Mr. Basketball honors before putting together a stellar three-year NCAA career with Iowa, where he shot an impressive 46.2% from three-point range in his final NCAA season.

Selected 41st overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, presented by State Farm, by the Spurs, he logged playing time with both the Spurs and the Raptors. He also gained valuable development in the G League with the Austin Spurs, Wisconsin Herd, Raptors 905, Texas Legends, and Maine Celtics as a reliable, high-percentage scorer.
Before moving to Germany, the forward went abroad for the 2024–25 season to join the South East Melbourne Phoenix in the Australian NBL. He then transferred to Jena in the summer, where he averaged 16.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per easyCredit BBL contest, shooting 41.1% from three-point distance and tallying an efficiency rating of 18.1 per game.
He now brings that elite productivity to the reigning German champions to debut in the Basketball Champions League.
