Peristeri Betsson participated in a flurry of midweek Basketball Champions League movements by securing a one-year deal with 26-year-old forward Tasos Kamateros on Wednesday. The former Vanderbilt and South Dakota standout joins an ambitious lineup featuring Tytan Anderson, Will Carius, Manos Chatzidakis, Jalen Finch, Giorgos Gkiouzelis, John Ittounas, Grace Ngindu, Ty Nichols, Alexandros Nikolaidis, Kostas Papadakis, Dimitris Papageorgiou, Omar Payne, Paul Scruggs, Alexandros Thomakos, and Nikos Tziallas. Under the guidance of coach Vassilis Xanthopoulos, this reinforced unit enters Group D of the Regular Season, where they will face BMA365 Bamberg Baskets, Openjobmetis Varese, and UCAM Murcia.
Meanwhile, fellow Greek side Promitheas focused on continuity ahead of their Qualification Rounds in Samokov, locking down a one-year contract extension with 18-year-old prospect Ioannis Rallis. Other contenders aiming to advance through the elimination brackets finalized personnel decisions, including the Landau Lions keeping 18-year-old Ismayil Abdullayev on their books. Also on Wednesday, the Landstede Hammers bolstered their operational core by welcoming former Montana star Trae Taylor. Finally, veteran leadership took center stage in Switzerland, where 39-year-old Juwann James committed to another campaign with Lions de Geneve.
The 11th BCL season begins with the Qualifiers from September 14 to 20, where two advancing teams will complete the 32-team regular-season lineup. The eight groups of four teams each tip off in early October. Following the January Play-Ins for second- and third-place finishers, the 2026–27 schedule progresses through the Round of 16 and the Quarterfinals, concluding with the Final Four in May.
