Sassari makes it to the Champions League Top 16 in unorthodox fashion!

Dinamo Sassari was down 31, but managed to crawl all the way back to a 21-point gap, just enough to see them through to the Round of 16 on a 157-156 aggregate score against Nymburk (84-63)! Dusko Savanovic hit the tie-winning free-throws with 5.5 left on the game clock, CEZ Nymburk had the final shot, but Sant-Roos couldn’t find score. Surprisingly, CEZ Nymburk are out of the competition with a perfect 8-0 record at home in the Basketball Champions League! Lacey had 17 points, six boards and five assists to lead Sassari, Savanovic finished with 14.

AEK enters the Round of 16, beating Juventus Utena 75-54 in Athens and 153-131 on aggregate. The Greek club will face AS Monaco in the next round. Mike Dixon and Chinemelu Elonu combined for 28 points, as AEK got a massive 48 bench points and never gave Utena a chance.

Pinar Karsiyaka set up an all-Turkish derby in the next round after beating Fraport Skyliners 72-52 in the second leg of the Play-Off Qualifiers, easily erasing a ten-point deficit from the first leg. Mike Green led Karsiyaka with 18 points.

Avtodor Saratov put up a strong run to end the game, but EWE Baskets held on to a 98-89 win in Germany, 182-176 overall. Brian Qvale was the man of the hour with 34 points, while Chris Kramer flirted with a triple-double once more with 14 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. The Germans take over Turkish Cup holder Banvit next week.
