Kataja only needed to not lose by more than… four points against Joventut Badalona in order to qualify thus a 71 – 71 tie was more than enough for the Fins to check their ticket to the next round of the Basketball Champions League thanks to a 150 – 146 aggregate score.
The first match in Spain had finished with a 75 – 79 victory for Kataja so not winning now was perfectly fine.
Alex Marzette led Kataja with 14 points while Simon Birgander had 15 for Badalona.
