MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg recorded their sixth straight victory in the Basketball Champions League on the road against PAOK 83-63. The German squad now stands on a strong 7-1 record while PAOK dropped to 2-6.

In the first half, both teams put up a great fight as PAOK had a minimal lead after the first 20 minutes of action 48-47. The two opponents caught a fire early and stayed “hot” until the second half.

Yet after the break, Ludwigsburg completely shut down its opponents, beating them the second time this season.

The Key: The German side was playing some incredible defense in the second part of the match. They allowed their hosts to score only 7 points in the third quarter. In the last period, PAOK was scoreless for more than 8 minutes and ultimately managed to notch only eight points.

The Stars: Thomas Walkup had a strong all-around performance with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists. His teammates helped him as Dwayne Evans had 13 points and 8 rebounds and Johannes Thiemann finished with 10 and 9.

Dimitrios Katsivelis’ 16 points and 6 rebounds didn’t help PAOK as much as he would want.
