Nymburk strong in Thessaloniki

CEZ Nymburk defeated Aris 71 – 65 in Thessaloniki after a crazy game. The Czech team has won four games in a row and now they improved to a 6-3 record while the Greeks fell to 4-5.

The visiting team destroyed Aris in the first half. Nymburk was already leading by six (17 – 11) when they went berserk into an 18-0 run starting the second quarter (35 – 11, 16′).

The reaction came in the second half. The third quarter ended with a 22-9 score in favor of the hosts and Aris made it a close contest again with just 10 minutes left. Six minutes later Aris took back the lead (61 – 60).

The key: With Aris getting the lead Eugene Lawrence paced an 11-2 run and Nymburk decided the game.

The star: Kendrick Ray finished with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the guests and Dardan Berisha contributed 15 points.

Not enough: Aris was close to an impressive comeback win. Michalis Tsairelis dropped 23 points while Panagiotis Vasilopoulos had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
