Bayreuth upsets Strasbourg on the road

Medi Bayreuth defeated SIG Strasbourg 82 – 77 after a thrilling game on the road. The French team fell to a 5-4 record while the guests jumped to 6-3.

The key: Bayreuth was leading by one with 20 seconds left (78 – 77) when James Robinson scored a clutch shot. Dee Bost had the chance to send the game to overtime but he missed and the visiting team escaped with the win.

An impressive start allowed the Germans to have an early 15-point lead (27 -12, 9′) and they kept it, shooting 8-of-12 from the three-point territory.

Strasbourg reduced the deficit to single digits in the third quarter. The last period began with Bayreuth leading just 62 – 55 and in the end, everything was decided by one shot.

The star: James Robinson scored the decisive bucket but he also had game-high 21 points. Gabe York added 19.

David Logan dropped 20 points (including 6 three-pointers) for the French team.
