Ovie Soko led Murcia to their fifth win in a row

UCAM Murcia got its fifth straight win after defeating EWE Baskets Oldenburg at home 85 – 65. The Spaniards jumped to a 7-4 record and they are now tied with the Germans in Group A.

The guests collapsed during the first ten minutes, scoring just 10 points and Murcia managed to get a double-digit lead in the second quarter. Oldenburg finished the period with a 0-6 run but at the break, they were losing by 12 (40 – 28).

Murcia reached its biggest lead in the third (53 – 35, 24′), still, the guests managed to stay alive (62 – 53, 30′).

The key: Murcia needed to win by 21 to get the tie-breaker over Oldenburg at the end of the regular season. The hosts made a great defensive effort in the fourth quarter, receiving just 12 points and they were close to their objective.

The star: Ovie Soko is playing great lately. He led the winners with an incredible double-double (27 points and 11 boards). Rickey Paulding had 14 points for Oldenburg.
