Basketball Champions League – Day 13 Preview

There are only two weeks left in the regular season of the Basketball Champions League. Ten out of sixteen teams booked their tickets for the next round. For the remaining six places fifteen teams will fight in the following two weeks. The Day 13 starts on Tuesday as the teams are more than ready for the battle.

Group A

In this group AS Monaco, Pinar Karsiyaka, EWE Baskets Oldenburg and UCAM Murcia already joined the Play-Offs.

On Tuesday night program in the Group A will start off with a game between Juventus Utena and EWE Baskets Oldenburg in Lithuania. Both teams lost their games last week so this would be a good time for a bounce back for both of them.

UNET Holon and Dinamo Sassari games start right after the game in Lithuania. In their first game in Italy Dinamo won in a high-tempo game 98-84.

The other two games will be held on Wednesday night. Perfect Monaco will host Murcia and France while in Russia Enisey Krasnoyarsk will meet Karsiyaka.

Group B

It’s gonna be a crazy run in this group as there are 3 teams with a 5-7 record who will be fighting for the Play-Offs.

Iberostar Tenerife and MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg are secured for the next round while Neptunas Klaipeda with a 7-5 record is one step away from the Play-Offs as well.

PAOK, Ventspils and Elan Chalon are standing on a 5-7 record while even Gaziantep with a 4-8 record has a chance to go to the next round.

Only one game will be played on Tuesday in this group. Ventspils will meet Capo d’Orlando in Italy. The Italians are on the bottom and Ventspils will have to beat them if they want to continue their Basketball Champions League’s campaign.

On Wednesday PAOK will have guests from Lithuania as they are facing Neptunas.

Elan Chalon will have to beat the reigning champion Tenerife in Spain. That will a very difficult task for the French team, but they need that win.

In Turkey, Gaziantep will try to survive for another week at least as they are facing Ludwigsburg.

 

Group C

Banvit is on the top of the standings in this group they are two wins clear of everyone else. But, four teams have the same 7-5 record and will fight for the remaining spots.

Three out of four games in the Group C will take place on Tuesday.

The action starts with Petrol Olimpija hosting Aek in Slovenia followed by games in Spain and France.

In Spain, Movistar Estudiantes will meet Banvit while SIG Strasbourg will fight against Rosa Radom.

On Wednesday night medi Bayreuth and Umana Reyer Venezia will face each other in Germany.

Group D

One place left open in the Group D and five teams will fight for it. Besiktas Sompo Japan, Nanterre 92 and CEZ Nymburk already qualified for the next round.

Zielona Gora will be playing at home this week. They need to took down Nanterre to keep their chances alive for the next round of the game on Tuesday night.

On the same day, Telekom Baskets Bonn will travel to Turkey to face the leader of the group Besiktas.

The other two games are scheduled for Wednesday night. Oostende will have a guest from Czech Republik – Nymburk. And the game in Italy between Sigidas Avelino and Aris will conclude the Day 13.
