Basketball Champions League Qualifiers: Second Round – Day 1 Recap

The second round of the Basketball Champions League Qualifiers has begun, with plenty of derbies taking place across the continent this Tuesday evening!

Aris overcame Nizhny Novgorod in a tough game in Russia and escaped with the 65-63 win. Gary Bell scored 17 points, pacing the Greeks one step closer to qualifying to the competition’s regular round.

Karhu Basket prevailed over Lukoil Levski 93-88 in Sofia, paced by a huge performance by Bojan Sarcevic. The 30-year-old Bosnian posted a double-double of 22 points and 10 assists, leading his team to win the first leg of the qualifiers.

Estudiantes defeated Polski Cukier Torun 68-60 on the road. Nikola Jankovic’s double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds led the Spanish side to a crucial victory.

Fribourg Olympic got past Donar Groningen away from home with a narrow 72-67 victory. Andre Williamson led the winners with 15 points and eight rebounds.

In the final game of the night, Telenet Giants Antwerp got past Red October Cantu 84-76, as Tate Jae’Sean tapped a double-double performance of 18 points and 11 rebounds.
