Nanterre destroys Opava with offensive festival

Nanterre took quite a payback from Opava for the Basketball Champions League Round 1 loss. The French side dominated from start to finish to obliterate its opponents 110 –  64 and improve its Group B record to 4-4.

The winning squad took Opava by storm in the first quarter to grab a 30 – 11 lead after 10 minutes. Nanterre kept the same intensity in the second period to reach halftime up by 36 (!), 60 – 24 while the visiting team looked unable to react.

The rest of the match was a “standard procedure”. While Nanterre climbed closer to the qualification zone, Opava dropped to 1-7.

Dominic Waters scored a team-high 19 points for Nanterre while Lahou Konate dropped 15 points and grabbed five rebounds. Demetrius Treadwell finished with 13 points plus nine rebounds for a game-high 24 PIR and Hugo Ivernizzi had 13 points and eight assists.

Miroslav Kvapil (15 points, eight rebounds) and Vaclav Bujnoch (14 points, five rebounds) stood out from Opava.
