Mario Chalmers will go through medical tests and afterwards officially become an AEK player. The 33-year-old American guard was in advanced talks with the Queen, now is set to make the trip to Greece and get back in action.

He last played for Segafredo Virtus Bologna and helped the Italian side win the Basketball Champions League with 7.7 points, 2.8 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals per appearance. The Kansas alum also averaged 8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2 assists per LBA Serie A game.

Before making his way to Europe for the first time, Chalmers took part in 745 NBA games including 99 playoffs tilts. In 2012 and 2013 he was crowned champion with the Miami Heat. Another title came in 2008 with Kansas going all the way in the NCAA tournament.

As for AEK, the Greek club is currently riding a 2-1 BCL W-L tally good enough for third place in Group B. Ilias Papatheodorou’s team is 1-4 in Greece’s Basket League as well.
