Luka Doncic out of prep game vs. USA

Slovenia superstar Luka Doncic won’t play in Saturday’s (12/8) highly anticipated preparation game of his national team against the USA, as a precaution, the Slovenian Federation announced.

Doncic seemed to be in pain after a dunk in the second quarter vs. Spain Friday (11/8). He left the floor briefly but returned and continued playing until the fourth period, finishing with 17 points (5-13 shots), six rebounds and five assists over 25 minutes in a 79 – 99 loss to the Spanish side.

Even before last night’s game vs. Spain, which was particularly physical and tough, Doncic was already questionable since Slovenia was considering resting him.

Doncic already had an injury scare vs. Greece where he collided with an opponent and seemed to hurt his knee during the first half. He didn’t play at all after the break.

Slovenia is without Denver Nuggets forward Vlatko Cancar who tore his ACL after an awkward landing against Greece.
