FIBA World Cup Qualifiers narrow the field as European picture clears

By Eurohoops Team/ info@eurohoops.net

The opening stage of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers in Europe has neared its completion. Three of the eight groups officially concluded their schedules on Sunday, leaving the remaining five groups to decide their final standings on Monday.

The top three countries from each group will advance to the second and final qualification round. These advancing teams will carry their hard-earned first-round results into a newly formed six-team group structure. The next phase of the tournament is scheduled to begin in late August, aligning with the upcoming FIBA window.

Meanwhile, the journey does not end for the teams eliminated in this round, as they will automatically shift their focus to the second round of the EuroBasket 2029 Pre-Qualifiers.
