Spain destroyed Argentina in an emphatic way (86-53) and finished its preparation games without a defeat in 8 contests. Only the hosts of the World Cup and USA won all their pre-tournament games. Pau Gasol was the MVP thanks to his 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Rudy Fernandez and Felipe Reyes were out of team for that game, but that fact didn’t influence at all the whole picture of Spanish national team.
The last friendly game was a show for Orenga’s players since the first minute, since they were leading 20-5 after only 7’. Luis Scola and Andres Nocioni had bad percentages, the big guys of Spain dominated (the rebounds were 55-28) and secured the victory too soon. The difference was getting bigger and bigger as the Spaniards were also shooting great.
