Greece trims World Cup roster to 14 players

Greece is down to 14 players ahead of the 2019 FIBA World Cup. Vangelis Mantzaris and Kostas Antetokounmpo were cut, the Greek Basketball Federation announced on Thursday.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Giannis Athinaiou, Giannis Bourousis, Nick Calathes, Antonis Koniaris, Giannoulis Larentzakis, Konstantinos Mitoglou, George Papagiannis, Kostas Papanikolaou, Ioannis Papapetrou, Giorgos Printezis, Kostas Sloukas and Panagiotis Vassilopoulos are the 14 players remaining.

Only 12 will make the final cut and the World Cup squad. Afterwards, Greece will be part of Group F action at Nanjing, China, battling Montenegro on September 1st, Brazil on September 3rd and New Zealand on September 5th,
