SHANGAI– Australia made the World Cup semifinals for the first time ever, following the quarterfinals win over the Czech Republic. Boomers head coach Lemanis and his players though won’t be satisfied until they make that extra step towards the title game.

“The job isn’t finished for us,” Lemanis said in the post-game presser. “We finished fourth at the Olympics and that was a terrible feeling. So we’re giving ourselves an opportunity now and we need to ensure sure do anything we can to we take advantage of this opportunity.”

Following a question about how the team felt after finishing fourth in the 2016 Olympic Games, Lemanis talked about upcoming semifinal against Spain and the chances his squad has to make history.

“Everyone is aware of it. In many ways that hurt has driven the passion in this particular team. The first thing I heard when I went to the locker room was guys saying “job not done yet, job not done yet.” The focus is there and we have to prepare for Spain as we just need to prepare as we prepare for everybody else. Assistant coaches have been unbelievable in putting scouting together. Players have been great in following scouts. And we come up with a game plan that gives us a chance for success and going out there and execute.”
