The dream 2013-14 season of Maccabi Tel Aviv ended with the Israeli league title, which concluded the triple crown of the team and it was also the 100th trophy in club’s history. The title was decided in a dramatic way after overtime with a two points defeat by Maccabi Haifa.
The final score was 84-82 (79-75) and the championship title ended up in Tel Aviv because of the Euroleague champions’ road win on Sunday’s first leg of the finals by four points (81-77). That’s why there was an overtime after the four point “win” of Maccabi Haifa at the end of regulation. Ricky Hickman with 22 points was the top scorer of the winners, however once again Tyrese Rice was the hero of the night with 15 points and got the MVP title, like he did in Euroleague’s Final Four.
