With 1.17′ to go Barcelona was leading just by one point (68-67) against Crvena Zvezda. Anything could happen but the quality of the Spaniards led them to the 77-73 road win in Belgrade.

Barca answered with a 5-0 run (73-67), Zvezda made it again a two points game (75-73) with 3 seconds left, but it was too late. Juan Carlos Navarro scored 12 points for the winners, leading a balanced offense, and Boban Marjanovic had a big game for the hosts with 23 points and 11 rebounds. The Serb won the duel from the Croatian center of Barcelona, Ante Tomic (8 p., 4 r.), but he didn’t have the same supporting cast.
