Panathinaikos had a nine points advantage with two minutes to go, but in the end had to stay calm and fight until the last moment in order to get the 86-84 win over Galatasaray.

The game was tied at 67 in the 34′ and then the guests started shooting. Two threes by Janis Blooms, one by James Gist and a two pointer by Esteban Batista made the score 78-67. Galatasaray tried to react, but one more three by Dimitris Diamantidis (81-70) restored the order. However the hosts didn’t give up and managed to come back, trailing by one (84-83) with 15 seconds left. The game turned into a free throws roulette, with 8 seconds left Justin Carter lost both his attemps and the Greens won.

Coach Ergin Ataman remained seated on the bench for most of the game, demonstrating his discontent over the financial woes of the team. Seven players were used by Galatasaray, Patrick Young with 24 points and 9 rebounds was great, while James Gist and Esteban Batista with 14 points each were the top scorers of Panathinaikos.
