Siena lost the Italian Supercup to Cantu, but already started its schedule in “Legabasket” with two wins. After opening prematurely the season with a home win against Brindisi last Wednesday (92-65) for the second gameday, the champions on Sunday beat Reggio Emilia away 61-56. It wasn’t pretty, but after all the result counts.

Title contender EA7 Armani Milano started its season with an impressive win against Caserta (97-71) with five players scoring in double digits and American forward Malik Hairston (photo) being the best with 17 points. Cantu, after winning the last open ticket to Euroleague, will play its domestic season opener on Tuesday (2/10) against Venezia.

The other games of the 1st gameday in Italy were the following: Cremona – Bologna 63-74, Brindisi – Varese 110-118, Avellino – Montegranaro 74-82, Scavolini – Roma 71-75, Sassari – Biella 79-67.
